Rebecca Montemarano's Fundraiser for Unite for HER
When my mom, Pat DeFranco, was diagnosed with Stage 1A breast cancer, our family was incredibly grateful that it was caught early. Even with a positive prognosis, a cancer diagnosis brings fear, uncertainty, and countless questions.
In July 2026, my mom underwent a double mastectomy at St. Mary Medical Center in Newtown, PA. Throughout her journey, Unite for HER became an invaluable source of support. They provided resources, education, wellness services, and encouragement that helped her navigate treatment and recovery with confidence. Even today, they continue to be part of her support system.
Seeing firsthand the difference this organization made for my mom inspired me to give back. I'm fundraising to help ensure that other women facing breast or ovarian cancer have access to the same compassionate care, guidance, and support that meant so much to our family.
Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Contributions go directly toward Unite for HER's care services, including care boxes and wellness resources that provide vouchers for healthy meals, mental health support, physical wellness therapies, and other recovery-focused treatments that help women heal and thrive throughout their cancer journey.

ABOUT UNITE FOR HER
Unite for HER is a national nonprofit organization that provides free integrative therapies, services, education, and support to individuals diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer. Our mission is to help every person feel empowered, supported, and cared for throughout treatment and beyond—addressing the physical, emotional, and nutritional challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. Through personalized wellness resources, expert guidance, and a compassionate community, we ensure no one has to navigate cancer alone.
Our two signature programs make this support possible. The Wellness Passport Program provides eligible members with a curated care box and up to $2,000 in integrative therapies and services, including nutrition counseling, grocery gift cards, meal delivery, professional counseling, yoga, meditation, exercise, and other evidence-informed wellness resources tailored to each person's needs. After completing the Passport Program—or for anyone diagnosed with breast or ovarian cancer regardless of when they were diagnosed—the Empowered Living Program offers lifelong access to virtual education, cooking classes, wellness workshops, one-on-one nutrition consultations, expert-led webinars, and an ongoing community of support, helping members continue to thrive long after treatment.
